My Work

My name is Raymond Boyce and I love photography.  Being a photographer obliges me to 'see', in more than just a fleeting way, whatever is in front of my camera. It requires me to be more 'present' to the world around me. It also lets me explore and play with creative ways of digitally enhancing my images, a process which I enjoy as much as the initial taking of pictures.

My photographic interests tend to focus on the 'structures' of the built form, of the human form, and of forms found in nature. I look for subjects that give me pause, that compel me to look more closely.

Biography

I have always enjoyed taking pictures, especially of our family over the decades and, in later years, of my travels abroad. I started with my childhood Brownie Hawkeye camera, then used a Super 8 mm home movie camera, and finally, several film cameras.  While I never pursued photography as a career, in recent years I have resumed my photographic journey, my 'road not taken' -- studying the art of photography and learning the fascinating, technical side of the digital photography world.
